Mamma Mia and Annie at Broadway Palm!
This spring and summer Alec was fortunate to perform in two long runs of Mamma Mia and Annie at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. Mamma Mia was the theatre’s #3 selling show in 25 years! 98% of seats sold by the end of the run. Both productions Directed and Choreographed by Amy Marie McCleary. Mamma Mia ran Feb 14 - Apr 7th, and Annie Jun 24 - Aug 12.
"A Christmas Story" at the Broadway Palm!
Alec is lucky to be spending this holiday season in sunny Ft. Myers, Florida performing in the ensemble of A Christmas Story at the Broadway Palm, directed by Dean Sobon and choreographed by Sam Hewes Cramer. Running now through Dec 25th! Hemlock Theatre's Big Fish
This summer, Alec will be working with Hemlock Theatre Company on Staten Island, Assistant Directing Big Fish, along with Brendan Stackhouse (Fun Home, Marvelous Wonderettes) Big Fish is an awesome challenge in adapting a big show to a small space, while keeping the story-telling aspect larger than life. October 2015 - Stanley Award Winning Play Reading
Wagner College Theatre administers the Stanley Drama Awards, which was extablished in 1957 by Staten Island philanthropist Alma Guyon Timolat to encourage and support aspiring playwrights. This year, Bob Clyman's The Good Bet joins other award winners such as Terrence McNally’s “This Side of the Door” (aka “Things That Go Bump in the Night”), Lonne Elder III’s “Ceremonies in Dark Old Men,” and Jonathan Larson’s “Rent.” Alec was asked to be in the annual staged reading of the play. Meeting the author afterwords was an unforgettable experience. Thanks to Clyman, and director of the staged reading, Mickey Tennenbaum.
April 2016 - A Chorus Line
Alec is thrilled to be cast as Don Kerr in A Chorus Line. He is absolutely honored to be working with Director, and Tony-Award-Winner, Michele Pawk! February 2016 - Iolanthe
This spring, Alec will be joining Wagner's Head of Dance, Rusty Curcio, by Assistant Directing the Main Stage production of Iolanthe. Alec has studied the Gilbert + Sullivan style in class, along with studying Directing from Prof. Mickey Tennenbaum, and is excited to put his skills to work! Show dates are Feb 24 - March 6th. October 2015 - Rocky Horror Picture Show!
After a 3 year hiatus, Alec helped bring back the yearly Rocky Horror Picture Show tradition to Wagner College, along with creative team Jacob Cowan (asst. Director), Tatiana Erikson (Choreographer) and the fearless Acacia Raffle (Stage Manager.) The cast rehearsed for 2 1/2 short weeks to put together the live version of the cult classic musical. At the stroke of midnight on Halloween over 200 students came out to enjoy the show, participating with the usual call-outs. The night was a tremendous success!
