Wagner College Theatre administers the Stanley Drama Awards, which was extablished in 1957 by Staten Island philanthropist Alma Guyon Timolat to encourage and support aspiring playwrights. This year, Bob Clyman's The Good Bet joins other award winners such as Terrence McNally’s “This Side of the Door” (aka “Things That Go Bump in the Night”), Lonne Elder III’s “Ceremonies in Dark Old Men,” and Jonathan Larson’s “Rent.” Alec was asked to be in the annual staged reading of the play. Meeting the author afterwords was an unforgettable experience. Thanks to Clyman, and director of the staged reading, Mickey Tennenbaum.
October 2015 - Rocky Horror Picture Show!
After a 3 year hiatus, Alec helped bring back the yearly Rocky Horror Picture Show tradition to Wagner College, along with creative team Jacob Cowan (asst. Director), Tatiana Erikson (Choreographer) and the fearless Acacia Raffle (Stage Manager.) The cast rehearsed for 2 1/2 short weeks to put together the live version of the cult classic musical. At the stroke of midnight on Halloween over 200 students came out to enjoy the show, participating with the usual call-outs. The night was a tremendous success!
